How do I choose the right tipi?

Choosing the right tipi provider for you is key to planning a successful wedding that reflects your aims and ambitions for a perfect day.  Choosing a well-established tipi company will give you reassurance and peace of mind that you are in safe hands. In choosing a company that specialises in wedding tipis, this will give you a wealth of knowledge and advise to tap into as well as testimonials and inspiration from previous clients  It’s important to check that a tipi company is a member of MUTA, which assures they are working to the highest industry standards.

The team at Beautiful World Tents has been helping couples create their perfect wedding since 2006, and are proud of their reputation as a leading tipi wedding specialist in the south east.  Working to the highest industry standards, they offer genuine Nordic style tipis from Scandinavia, complete with a full range of lighting and furnishings styled to help create a perfect festival wedding feel.

What size tipi for the number of guests?

Tipis can be linked together, so work flexibly to create exactly the right amount of space for different numbers of guests and the different activities taking place inside. There are many factors which influence the amount of space that’s needed, for example, type of dining and seating plans, whether guests will dine on long tables and benches festival style, or seated on round tables and chairs for a traditional wedding breakfast, whether you’d to like to have a bar as a tipi centrepiece, a party space with room for a band and dancefloor, or perhaps whether you’d like to have a chill out lounge area, to relax away from the dance floor.  The experience of the tipi company is important in recommending the best options to meet your needs, guiding you throughout the planning process and making sure that you have all the information you need to make informed decisions along the way.

What requirements does the venue need to have to host a tipi?

Its quite simple – a lovely patch of lawn and good access!

Tipis offer great versatility as they can be set up almost anywhere on grass.  Beautiful World Tents enjoys well established relationships with a range of different kinds of venues, from open fields, woodlands and more formal surroundings, as well as lovely private gardens.  There needs to be sufficient space to fit the tipis, relatively flat and well drained lane, plus access for vehicles delivering the tipis to be set up.  It’s also important that the land is free from any potential hazards such as underground or overhead electrical cables. You will also need to consider services – if there is no power on site then a generator will be needed, toilets can be hired for your guests convenience. Again by using a reputable company can advise you on what is needed and will usually have a selection of providers to recommend who they have worked with previously. What if it rains? Are the tipis waterproof?

How else can I make my wedding festival themed?

Tipi tents make the perfect backdrop to creating a festival style vibe. Create your own festival village with a smaller Kungsornen tipi filled with chill out furniture, a naked tipi bar or DJ stand to create a spectacular centrepiece. Have your guests camp out in your own Glamping village. Our Bell Tents are the perfect complement to a festival wedding – they can be grouped together to form a pop-up hotel giving your wedding guests the ultimate ease, flexibility and fun. Finally, no festival wedding would be complete without a fire pit. Just imagine your guests sat around the fire, sharing stories, singing songs and toasting a few marshmallows…

What if it rains? Are the tipis waterproof?

Authentic Nordic tipis are about the most robust outdoor tent structure available, that’s why they are suitable for use all year round. During the summer, they offer the chance to have the sides raised, maximising the lovely surroundings and views, enabling guests to spill in and out of the tents.  In the winter months, the sides of the tipis are firmly closed down, creating a warm and cosy atmosphere, even more magical with open fires and twinkly fairy lights.

Authentic Nordic tipis are especially resilient to the weather and can withstand much higher levels of adverse weather compared to other outdoor wedding structures.  If it rains, you’ll remain dry and cosy inside, even if the sides of the tipis are still raised as the rain will be taken away from the sloping sides.
